Kuih Bengkang

Recently, I made a trip to the Peranakan Museum and I had come across these unique stuffs.
These things are used in the process of making nyonya kuih, chinese cookies, biscuits and other traditional desserts. Check them out!

Tools needed to make the nyonya kuihs, biscuits, cookies, mooncakes and etc.

These are moulds for the nyonya kuihs, mooncakes, cookies and biscuits. There's a Malay proverb: "bagaimana acuan, bagaimana kuihnya". "Acuan" means MOULD in Malay. This literally means that the kuih will have the "look" of the mould. On the other hand, it also means that the parents are the "mould" of their kids.

Nyonya Kuih can be easily found in Malaysia and are mostly sold in mobile stall, just like those mobile burger stalls which sell cheap and delicious food.

These are the Nyonya Kuih stalls that I usually visit:
1) Nyonya Kuih Stall at Gelutong Market (only in the morning)
2) Batu Lanchang Hawker Centre (only at noon)

See there are various types of nyonya kuih available at the Batu Lanchang Nyonya Kuih Stall.

Would be great if recipes are included for all kuih photographed.
Would ensure nyonya heritage be carried down and spread among younger generations.
