Chinese New Year part 2: Chinese New Year's atmosphere 新年气氛
Chinese New Year 华人农历新年(also known as the Spring Festival 春节) is the MOST important traditional festival for the Chinese. Sometimes, you may hear people calling it as the Lunar New Year. This festival is celebrated on the 1st day初一 of the 1st lunar month正月 and it ends on the 15th. The night of the 15th day is called "Cap Goh Meh".
Before the Chinese New Year, Chinese families will give their entire home a thorough cleaning. It is believed that the cleaning sweeps away the bad luck and makes their home ready for the good fortune.
I have already helped my mother to clean the whole house and the next thing to do is shopping for new year's stuffs and this is my favourite part of the preparation for the Chinese New Year.
I love the Chinese New Year's atmosphere. People put on the Chinese New Year's decoration and Chinese New Year's songs can be heard nearly in every shopping mall. For this post, I am putting on the pictures of the Chinese New Year atmosphere in Queensbay Mall.

Markets are also full with crowds. People are heading to the markets recently for their last-minute-shopping. Yesterday, I purposely paid a visit to the Batu Lanchang Market to buy some decorations for my house and I took some pictures too! Check them out!
