Kampachi @ Equatorial Hotel, Penang
I have not posted anything new in the last two weeks and I am really sorry about that. Ever since Michael Jackson's tragic death, I had been hanging on Youtube everyday. Now, I think it is time for me to return to my normal blogging routine.
Searching over the documents in my computer, I found out that I had been keeping the photos of Kampachi at Equatorial Hotel since Mother's Day. On Mother's Day, my family and I went for a Japanese meal at Kampachi, it was a trend in my family to celebrate Mother's Day there. Duh.....Maybe Kampachi is really near to my house!

Kampachi welcomes you~~
Here's a reminder for everyone. Make sure you make advance booking if you are going to Kampachi during any festival. They might be fully booked anytime!

I always love the sushi bar at Kampachi as they always serve exquisite yet delicious sushi as well as sashimi.

Having an affair with sushi

I was feeling a bit down when I discovered that most of the sashimi were gone. These were the ones which "survived".

Soba, sauce and everything nice = ??

Soba
A thin Japanese noodle made of bucketwheat flour, served with chilled sauce. One of my favourite Japanese cuisine. And in my opinion, I think Kampachi serves the best soba.

Mussel Teppanyaki

Salmon Teppanyaki

Fresh oyster
You better move fast if you are hunting for these. They always have the greatest reception at Kampachi. The second, will be the teppanyaki prawn (I failed to get them, so there's no photo...sorry! )

Prawn Chawan Mushi
I used to be crazy about this when I was a kid. This would definitely shut my mouth up for making so much noise at the table. But then, as I grown up, I find that stuffing my stomach with lots and lots of chawan mushi is a bit dumb! So, I seldom eat them in Japanese restaurants nowadays!

Potato Salad
This was cute, I found it at a small corner of the sushi bar. I think this was a new dish. I had never seen it during my earlier visits.

Seafood Pizza-Okonomiyaki
My mum's favourite. She got a piece for me, but I did not appreciate that. I found it quite weird (not trying to be offensive, personal opinion only!). Something cute about this. There were some small thread-like moving stuffs, quite creepy on top of the pizza! I don't know what was that, anyone can tell me the name??

Japanese mini To-fu
This will always be a must for me as a To-fu Queen. Too bad, it was quite small, so I have to make several trips to get them to fill me up!!!

Assorted pastries
Nothing special about the desserts, they had quite a large variety to choose from, but I found them average only.

ya...you should do so someday. By the way, have you tried out the buffet at E&O Hotel? That one was quite nice to me!!
You all must be having a fun time celebrating Mother';s Day there, right?
[little inbox]
ya ya....we sure did! so, did you have a wonderful mother's day this year??
Seems that their buffer is far better/OK if compared to ala carte bento?
i like Kampachi's sushi as well..very fresh & delicious^^
[Cariso]
If compare to Bento, of course the buffet is far better.

Yes, you don't have to worry after taking the sushi, your stomach will have to suffer :)
I hv been craving Jap food a lot these days....I wonder why.
*dangerous* to my wallet....
hey, it's MJ's song ;p
Thanks for dropping by my blog :)
must try it someday.
wah.. can't tahan looking at those mini dessertS! So alluring!
Been to Kampachi in Pavilion, KL a few times and the food was very good. For the brown coloured small thread-like moving stuff on top of the pizza, I think it's katsuobushi aka bonito flakes if I'm not mistaken. It's dried tuna in wood-like blocks, sometimes used in miso soup. You can google it out for more information. Coz I'm not too sure if I'm totally correct. :)
I loved Chawan Mushi a lot. I guess i'm still a kid at heart. ;)

those desserts looked good only, they didn't taste as great as they "faces"....better save your tummy for sushi, tempuras and etc. that will be more worth it! haha
