Honeydew Muachee/Marshmallow
My mom went to Hong Kong for her business trip and brought back this box of Japanese Muachee. She bought it in the Hong Kong airport. As you know airport's things are tend to be much more expensive, this box of cute little squashy things costed nearly RM30 if I am not mistaken. She actually bought 2 boxes, one honeydew and the other's red bean which she gave to the aunty next door.
Inside the box contained 18 individually packed Muachees. I called them Muachee because their taste, outlook and texture were kinda similar to the Muachees that I ate in Taiwan (click here for Taiwan Muachees). And not forgetting, they also looked like they were from the marshmallows family, don't you think so?!? :)
Well, come to think of it 18 Muachees for RM30 wasn't that bad if you do the maths x) It would be RM1.67 each! Hehe..The problem was their sizes were too small. When they were so amazingly delicious, eating them made me feel like it's a kind of guilty indulgence.
A thin layer of flour covered the outer layer of the Muachee. Thank god it's not sugar or else it might tasted like a donut! x)
The inside was filled with honeydew...jam?! I don't know how to describe but at least to me it's a kind of jam, correct me if my guess is wrong! x) And there's a little marshmallow in the middle part of the Muachee giving it its QQ feel, which is the BEST part of the Muachee. Really a guilty pleasure because they were so small and I could easily gobble up one with a mouth. My mom was warning me not to finish up the whole box in just one day because I absolutely enjoyed flipping trough magazines and eating them :)
These Muachees should be edible for vegetarians as well, but for typical vegetarians, you gotta watch out there, because there's egg white.
And did I mention before?! JAPAN products ROCK! =D If you happen to come across this box of Muachee, I recommend to buy it right away, no regrets, I can assure you that. And it is great to be presented as a gift too.
